The village of Calviá, south west of Palma, is a pretty Majorcan village nestling in open countryside at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain. The village is well preserved with traditional Majorcan stonehouses, narrow streets, small shops, and some nice Majorcan restaurants and cafés. Every Monday, the most typical market with food stalls, clothes, craftmanship etc. takes place.
Excursions on horsback are organized in the village, and there are a number of hiking routs in the vicinity.
A series of sandy beaches, such as Potals Nous, Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa, Costa de la Calma, on the southwest coast, is about 10 minutes drive away. Palma City is about 20 minutes away, and the airport approx. 25 minutes.

Ca´n Marina, is a beautiful luxury country house situated in a peaceful surrounding, a few minutes drive above Calviá. Ca´n Marina comprises two independant, Majorcan, two storey houses, with wonderful panoramic views of the countryside to the sea.
The main house, with its spacious accommodation, and incredibly thick walls, sleeps six in three double bedrooms.
On ground floor is one double bedroom (bed 1,60 x 2 m), bathroom with shower. Further on is the kitchen, all new, fully equipped and with dishwasher. The kitchen opens on to the lawn and side terrace of the house, and to the pool. From the kitchen is a small step into a spacious, and elegant dining room, with a bar seating area in one corner. Large French windows opens on to the outside lawned terrace, and to the pool area.
On mezzanine level, leaving the dining room through an impressive arch, is the de luxe furnished living room and lounge with a cosy sitting area, and lovely views of the Mediterranean garden. The lounge opens on to a furnished pergola terrace with access to the pool.
A couple of steps from the living room, is the master bedroom with a full bathroom and separate, walk in shower ensuite, and with a dressing room. Two 1,20 x 2 m beds make up the double bed. Picture windows face on to olive trees, and large French windows open on to a private terrace with lovely views to the sea.
On this level is also a twin bedroom ( beds 1,10 x 2 m), with views to the mountains, and a nicely tiled bathroom with shower. These two bedrooms both have air-conditioning.
In all rooms, there are made to measure, very thick, straw mats, beautiful paintings on the walls, and special exquisite antique pieces of furniture. Special effort has been made in making it a highly comfortable house, for an all year round living.
The second house, has a more rustic touch, a perfect hide out for teenagers, with its well kept mallorquin sitting-corner and open fireplace, kitchen with dishwasher and adjacent furnished terrace. The house is sparsely furnished but fully equipped. There are two large twin bedrooms (beds 0,90 x 2 m ), both with full bathrooms en suite, and each with a balcony and gorgeous views of the countryside, and to the sea. There is a separate laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer.
