Sóller, situated with a backdrop of the highest mountain on the island, the Puig Major, is a lovely town surrounded by orange and lemon groves and beautiful hundred year old olive trees. Sóller is a prosperous town, once with an important textile industry, today with several small cooperatives for local products such as ice-cream, marmalade, olive oil and sausages. Sóller´s privileged location has attracted artists from all over the world and Art Galleries are located in traditional Majorcan houses, an attraction in itself.

Puerto de Sóller, The beautiful bay of Puerto de Sóller is a small resort away from the crowded tourist beaches with an air of a small fishing village together with beaches and leisure boats.
The local beach offers plenty of nautical services and along the promenade there is a wide range of shops, bars and excellent restaurants.
Boat excursions are also available from the port to La Calobra, Cala Tuent and Cala Deía. Nearby villages are Fornalutx, Deiá, Sóller, Biniaraix.
Fornalutx is a beautiful mountain village, north of Sóller, considered the prettiest village in Spain by the Bellas Artes Society and a true oasis of tranquility and harmony.
The streets are steep and narrow, many have steps and therefore, Fornalutx is best seen on foot. On a hot summer´s day, the 500 villagers are nowhere to be seen, the siesta hour is a must, but as the day cools off, the bars in the square become crowded with chatting villagers, playing children and visitors enjoying the small village shops.
When evening falls the local resaturants offer Mallorquín cuisine when it is at its best.
Biniaraix, the almost fairy-tale mountain village on the outskirts of Sóller, is an unspoilt gem of narrow cobbled streets and alleys, a small square with a bar and the church; an idyllic and peaceful spot where time doesn´t seem to exist. Biniaraix is also a well known starting point for one of Mallorcas classic hikes, The Barranc walk
