The more you look around on the island, the more you come to realise that here you can find exactly what you are looking for. We have under the heading of More Places moved into the country side, to flat farmland, red soil, hidden valleys with old stone fences separating the lands; places surrounded by a different feel to that of the immediate closeness of sea and mountains.
However, no matter where you decide you want to stay, there will always be a beach within an acceptable distance.
The produce of wine in Mallorca has had an immense development, thus the eye meets large farmlands of growing grape wines, others are concentrating on all kinds of vegetables. There are some areas where hugh round balls are lying along the ground in late summer. These are water melons, or melons. Or you are in a valley with wonderful peach blossom.
The inland is basically flat, dry and hot in the summer. Because of this there has, over the years, been a big development of private swimming pools making the inland areas more desireable.
Also, with the new irrigation systems, this is where Mallorca´s many golf courses are to be found.
